This was a project exploring the benefits and drawbacks of both hand crafted and manufactured techniques.

 

This resulted in the production of a spoon that embodied techniques from both hand craft and machine.

 

The title Spooning leads to Splinters expresses how a labour of love can lead to pain which was something I experienced when hand carving the spoon head and having to embrace the imperfections that arose from choosing this over using machinery.
